Not only it brings something fresh and brand-new into already familiar settings and narratives displayed in the movie, but also delivers those tidbits of character introspection in order to fill in the blanks, that I thought the film had covered. It was a solid and smart move from UFO table leaving out content from the film in order to repurpose it for the TV readaptation of the Mugen Ressha arc for season two. Thankfully, this episode to start the second season not only dispelled my anxiety but also elevated my hopes towards new expectations and allowed me to discern a deeper appreciation towards Rengoku and his love for his nation's cuisine I'm no joking on that last statement. As if the TV readaptation was cheapening the value and fun of watching the film before. When I first learned the news that UFO table was to readapt the Infinite Train arc film into the anime's second season, I felt a little robbed from the effort of having experienced the film twice beforehand. As someone who never got around to watching the movie, I'm actually pleased they're making a "superior version" split into seven episodes.
